Tick Incident

Yesterday Lil and I had a hilarious incident involving ticks. On the weekend, when we were at the summer house, a few of the Danes informed us to 'Be careful of the Ticks'.

Lil and I were like... WHAT? WHAT TICKS?

We were told that there are ticks in the forests in Summer, and that they jump onto you when you are walking out in nature.

WHOA...Naturally having grown up with the information that ticks are lethal, can cause paralysis, and result in death - both Lil and I were paranoid the entire weekend.

Home at last, and feeling free of Tick hysteria, we came to the office for work on Monday. Neils popped in to send a fax abroad, and told us that he found 3 ticks on his body on Sunday night, and Ann also had to remove a tick.

Obviously Lil and I felt uncomfortable at this information, and resolved to check ourselves when we got home that night.

Having checked that evening we felt confident that we were tick free.

Tuesday morning arrives.... I feel sick. Have a headache. Have fatigue. Got a fever.

Uh oh... what is going on?

Checking my body after the shower I find a rash, and red spot.

OH MY GAWD I scream to Lil - I have been bitten by a tick.

Paranoid with fear I head straight to google to look up Tick symptoms.

Sure enough my symptoms relate to tick bites.

By this stage I am hysterical, I am of course not sure how much time is left that I have to deal with.

LIL LIL LIL LIL WHAT TO DO!! LIL LIL LIL!!!!!!!!!

So I call Niels - Tick expert for he should have the answer. Neils finding the whole incident hilarious takes awhile to get to serious consultation, but confirms my greatest fear, that I may infact have been bitten by a malicious tick monster.

I apply his technique of putting honey on the rash - the idea being to suffocate the little dude if he exists in there.

Well anyway, waking up this morning I am going to the Doctor to check it out, but hopefully it is just tick hysteria.
