A Confession
I have a confession to make.... I am addicted to stationary.
Today, I was wandering in the downtown, and thought I would pop into the Dollarama store. I headed straight for the stationary section.
Pens, Markers, Paper, Books, Post-Its, Glue, Paint, Stickers...
I think I spent about half an hour glued to the endless stationary possibilities in front of me. Which book would I buy? Which pen would I choose, or maybe pencil? Would I live on the wild side and get some unecessary stickers? Or a two year plan ahead calendar? What about the so proclaimed 'magical markers' - they certainly sounded good.
I have a serious problem.
I love this stuff... LOVE it. I ended up getting an awesome hardcover 300 page notebook, some new textas, and post-it notes. I decided as cool as the stickers were, they really served no purpose for me.
Oh, and brought a cool book.... just about to snuggle up on my bed and read it now :-)

Damn right Mazzy. I second that motion.
I loooove stationary. I remember those big officeworks catalogues in Australia, they were better than any Porn magazine in my opinion.
And my favourite day in school always used to be the day we got our stationary for the year...rulers, compass, protractor....dont even get me started on those 4 colour pens.....
I'm addicted to being stationary too!
I enjoy not moving and being lazy!
Sorry, I just had to make a joke out of it!
As for stationery, I collected it when I was a child. HK is fantastic for stationery shopping, but I just collected and never wanted to use it. I now have boxes of it in the garage!
Tom, I had almost forgotten what a protractor was for...
Do you remember Poscas?
Good call, Mazzy. I spent a good part of yesterday in Indigo's stationery section. I left emptyhanded because I just could not choose between 3 leatherbound notebooks I saw there... The ironic thing is that I hardly ever use the stuff, as I prefer to "save" it :)
Aha... the stationary adicts come out! I must admit, i am Anuj, and I am adicted to stationary also! I am a gold member of Bureau en Gros (Business Depot) in Montreal... how exciting! The best part of my job is buying the office supplies! so Mazz, you are not alone.... perhaps we can use these adictions for MAGIC 2005!!!
Mazzy... you are reading a cookbook... does this mean you are going to have us over for dinner one day to try some nice Aussi made cuisine? :-)
Pens, pens, pens!!
I love pens (and little notebooks).
I'm also addicted to cases that hold my pens, and post-it flags, pencils, highlighters, umm maybe I should stop here.
Its a problem but I'm okay with it.
Wow... It is great to see that there are other stationary addicts out there.
You know what I used to love? Those magic markers - the ones where you use one colour and then use a special magical white marker.... and voila; it changes the colour.
Weren't those the best?!!
I am going to seek them out again.
Those secret pens were made by Crayola, I believe I still have a couple of sets of them back home (although no doubt they will be pretty dried up since I had them when I was in primary school!).
They are also in Denmark - I was using them on the MC last year.
They would make the meetings that much more exciting!
hi.
my name is Zoe.
and i'm a stationery-aholic
i worked for 7 years in a newsagents
this was a bad move, very bad move - so much opportunity to feed my habit!
last week they showed me where the stationery cupboard is at work
uh oh!!!
somebody stop me PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEASE!!!
Wow.. this is hilarious.
I wonder if a group of people meet about this addition anywhere in the world?
Would be an interesting meeting I bet!
