THAT'S why I am here...

First day at work...

One word...

AMAZING!!!

Now I know why I am here, and I am more than pumped about it.

I was meant for this environment.

I could not imagine feeling more at home, more quickly than I do in the HR department here at ABN AMRO.

The day was simply fantastic-

I had individual meetings with everyone on the team - getting to know people and what they do.

I was taken out to lunch by my kind of supervisors (not that they want to be called that at all!)- Kilian and Claire and we ended up talking about our love stories, and they told me about how they proposed to their life partners.

I was talking about a global leadership program with a guy, Peter, who has the job I would dream about travelling and training across the world.

I have signed up Linda, a dutch colleague involved in Talent Development training and advising for Improv theatre sessions with me.... which is awesome!

I met Micaela (another Irish trainee in my unit) who is super cool

I have all my reading material - talent development toolbox, ABN AMRO People agenda, strategic plan.

THIS IS WHY I AM HERE....

Plus there is a Danish woman and Polish woman who are heads of different HR stuff - so I spoke some native words with them.

Man, I love it already and I have only just begun...

This is the professional craziness, the travel, the people, the fun open environment, driven that I have been craving for.

I am super oober doober pumped.

Hi Mazzy,

glad to hear you love your new place now, and that you won't miss us half as much as we will miss you! I did not have the chance really to tell you even when we had the little chat in your room the night before you left, but even though we did not see much of each other after I left the coop, I am glad we reconnected briefly during the two weeks of "goodbye soirées" (I mean, it was starting to sound like "yeah, yeah mom, can't talk to you right now, must catch the bus to attend Mazzy's 3rd farewell party")... oh, and the French part of my message on your flag means "We love you, pine cone!" (literally "pine cone"...figuratively, it's akin to "little darling". Nabil was quite shocked about it, tough guys like obviously don't call each other pet names, but Vicky set him straight by telling him that's nothing compared to what her and her girlfriends call each other. Vicky is adorable, isn't she? It's good to know that one of us is finally in good hands!
Wow, this has become a really disorganized rant, and I am sorry for the randomness worthy of a Fabiola, but what can I say, I get my absolute freedom in a few days, my place all to my own and lots of crazy plans for the summer!...Ah, h-a-p-p-i-n-e-s-s...*_* So anyway, is Amsterdam worth visiting in the summer, you think?
