Hmmmm...

According to:

http://neondragonart.com/ptt/cast/

The bipolar angel Mazzy has just been assigned her first job, a guardian angel. This is what she has always wanted to do, to follow and protect a human, to keep them on the path of good. Mazzy is a bright, cheerful, kind little angel as long as things are neat and proper. If things don't go as expected she gets a little scary.

Hmmmm.... definately scary :-)

Are you going to lunch?

No..

No, I'll eat here.

No, I am too busy.

No, can we do it tomorrow?

No, I have food from home.

No, No, No...

This has convinced me to do something.

I will make a PPT presentation titled ' Lunchtime is a GOOD thing'.

Yes it has come to this.

I need, in bullet form, to give people the reasons why taking 30 minutes out of their day to eat and interact with others is a GOOD and DESIRABLE thing.

Look, I am not unrelenting.

Sometimes we are busy.

Sometimes lunch at the desk is a necessary product of our corporate lives.

But when you can count your sit down lunches within the year... well you know you have a little lunchtime problem.

So I am making the PPT now.

Who knows, maybe it will skyrocket me to fame.

Remberance Day

rememberance day, originally uploaded by Mazzy.

In Australia and other allied countries, including New Zealand, Canada and the United States, 11 November became known as Armistice Day - a day to remember those who died in World War I. The day continues to be commemorated in Allied countries.

After World War II the Australian Government agreed to the United Kingdom's proposal that Armistice Day be renamed Remembrance Day to commemorate those who were killed in both World Wars. Today the loss of Australian lives from all wars and conflicts is commemorated on Remembrance Day.

In October 1997 the Governor-General issued a Proclamation declaring 11 November as Remembrance Day - a day to remember the sacrifice of those who have died for Australia in wars and conflicts.

The Proclamation reinforced the importance of Remembrance Day and encouraged all Australians to renew their observance of the event

Weird to be in a country that does not have this as a special moment, but good to feel the connection with home.

Loving London

So I am back in the office.

Spent the last few days in London on a business trip, and it was amazing.

THIS is how you get sucked in to the corporate world.

Flights to different countries - Business Class of course!
Free meals at exotic restaurants
Hotels in the heart of the city, looking onto the Tower Bridge
Free wine whilst waiting in queues for hotel check-in
Free transport to anywhere, at any time

After all, its on The Company.

This indeed, is the golden carrot.

And I must admit, I readily ate it up in London.

But that was not the only good thing.

I also caught up for dinner and drinks with some of my fave people...

Eddie
Neicey
Lynsey
Susie

Thanks guys for the dinner, the wine, the conversation, the laughs, the hugs and the UPDATES!

MWAH!

Definately loved London.

The need to Crash

"It's the sense of touch. In any real city, you walk, you know? You brush past people, people bump into you. In L.A., nobody touches you. We're always behind this metal and glass. I think we miss that touch so much, that we crash into each other, just so we can feel something..."

This is the opening line of the new movie CRASH, which I totally loved. It was a movie that really delved into difference, stereotypes, and really makes you reflect on your own personal bias... so go see it.

But for me, the opening line of the movie hit home.

I think that we miss that touch so much that we crash into each other, just so that we can feel something.

It got me thinking, are we really disconnected?
Are we lots of people walking around in the world, with surface level interactions?
How often do we actually build meaningful relationships these days?
Is it just me? Is it working in a company? Is it because I travel so much? Is it a self-protection mechanism?

Sometimes I feel like I know so many people, but I really know no-one.

And, who REALLY knows me?

I mean the deep meaty me.

The fears, the joys, the .... everything.

Do I not invest the time with the people that matter?
Am I becoming a player in the 'surface level' interaction society?

Every Monday night we have these drinks at a local pub, and I was talking with a friend the other day that we can spend hours and hours, talking with people but not REALLY talking with people.

Who do we REALLY talk too?
Do we miss the intensity of human interactions?
Do we miss the need for crashing, so to say?

It's funny actually.

When I first arrived in Amsterdam, I put across the trainee list a 'LIFE NIGHT' advertisement. I wanted to get a group of people together to talk about deeper things, share more personal experiences.

You know what, I got over 2o people who wanted to come.

'Maz I miss this.... I miss deeper connection'

Do we want a mega crash?
Ahhh... really reflective at the moment.

Writing in a torrent of Maziness...

Time to RAH...

What is the deal with trainees from one country sticking together like glue. I can appreciate that our own countries and people are very much like 'home', but when you start to have the Canadian group, the Brazilian group...

Sometimes, I just think... WHAT THE...?

Random RAH Moment!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
