The Power of the Dinner Party
It is no secret that I have never been a big fan of clubbing. Don´t get me wrong, I am always up for dancing and letting go of excess energy with a good group of people... but feeling some stranger lurching behind ready to pounce, trying to breathe in a sweaty smokey club, paying excessive prices for a basic glass of watered down Rose wine... well it just doesn´t do it for me.
At this stage in my life, I much prefer to attend or host a good dinner party.
I like the intimacy of sitting around a table, with candles, some good wine, good food and connecting through good conversation. It´s all so cosy. I love how the conversation is the main driver of group connection, and discussion can move from the trivial to the deep questions of life. I love how the emphasis is not on getting drunk, but rather drinking is just a part of the connection process. The wine flows naturally, with the conversation. People may or may not be tipsy ... it is irrelevant. The tea may even come out at the later stages in the night as the cosiness continues in a different form.
I am looking forward to learning how to cook better meals, and testing more wines, so that I can bring together better taste options for my guests of the future.
Because I have discovered this is my most favoured form of social interaction.
It´s just SOOO good. SOOOO me.
