LOVE my musicals!

A Date with... ME!

So every now and then I have a date with myself.

Essentially I do all the things that make me feel wonderful and alive - I treat myself to things I LOVE!

Tonight is one of those nights. After a crazy last week, and insane Halloween Party on the weekend (over 70 people in our house!!), I am ready for some time out.

So, what's on the plan tonight?

* A bubble bath and body lotion time
* A HEMA hair treatment
* Candles, essences
* Broadway Musicals
* Chocolate Milk & cookies
* Chatting with friends on the internet
* A new book
* Possibly a black and white movie, or love actually.

YAY... Loving it :-)

The liberation of MAYBE

Over the last week, I have found myself in several situations where I am having to do things because I have made committments to others, - even if that is not infact what or how I want to spend my time at the given moment.

Last Sunday night I really felt as if by not doing things, that certain people would be let down.In fact, that is what I was as good as told on several occasions...

Maz, we need you there, it will not be the same otherwise
Maz, you said you were coming, we are counting on you to be there
Maz, Maz, Maz.

I have had enough of this - how come this is happening?

I had a frank discussion with Arthur, and he told me a word I need to use more: ''maybe"

Maz will you come to the party? MAYBE
Maz will you be at the drinks? MAYBE
Maz will you come to the movies? MAYBE

MAYBE MAYBE MAYBE.

It's been liberating.

Amsterdam Visitors...

It is exciting times ahead!

Last weekend John, my friend from WA came to visit - and much rose wine fun was had by all!
This weekend it is Zac & George, my US friends who are coming from Geneva to visit :-)
The following weekend? TACO is in town!

Loving the centrality of Amsterdam :-)

A Classic Hit... for me!

It never ceases to amaze me the power of music to take you back to a certain moment, a specific memory.

One song that has recently resurfaced as a classic song for me is Australian singer, John Farnhams 80's hit 'You're the Voice'.

It takes me back to my childhood in Australia; and the 80s music

It takes me to a room in Copenhagen Denmark; surrounded by my Danish MC team, singing our MC song with a whole room of delegates cheering us on in a big circle

It takes me to the Hostel Alessandro in Rome where my fave Aussie bartender, Mark, would play this song to get me up and excited!

Who would have thought that one of my fave songs would turn out to be this one!

So on Hvar is a really famous bar/club called CARPE DIEM - and it was just Fab. It is a bar that is right on the water ... LOVING IT!

One of the best moments on the HVAR Island in Croatia was renting a boat, and taking bottles of wine with us - and literally driving around the islands.

It was crazy fun!

We have dedicated this memory as TEAM NANO - as we had this really honest Croatian waiter at lunch beforehand who was obviously discriminatory towards girls and who told us what he did and DID not like on the menu.... CLASSIC!
