Happy Engagement Party
To my brother and his fiance,
Right now you are still partying in Camden at your engagement party.
I wish that I could be there with you all...
I hope it was amazing, and I expect some photo evidence ASAP!
Hugs Mazzy xx
Jen's Birthday!
Well, what can I say? Any girl that loves pink feather boas, loves wearing princess crowns, drinking wine from gravy boats and singing Karaoke tunes all night long... is definately a girl after my own heart.
JEN, you are FABULOUS!
You are a shining light in Amsterdam - NEVER EVER CHANGE!
Love you, Hugs Maz xx

HAPPY BIRTHDAY GRANDMA!
Anyone who knows me, knows how much I adore my grandma. Indeed she is one of my most favourite people in the world.
She has inspired and inspires me everyday - I love her so dearly. Often when I am in conferences, we are asked the question of 'who is a role model for you' - and always my grandma comes up as one of my responses.
Why?
My grandma is a person who lights up the room.
She has a spirit that is amazing, and rare to find in people - she lives life for each and every moment, never taking herself to serious in the process.
She loves grandpa so much - and has shown me how a wonderful relationship may look like. I have even caught her pinching grandpas bum on a few occasions, and then giving me a wink ;-)
Grandma is a person who lives and gives for others; relentlessly and without want for a return. It is rare to find this pure selflessness in this age.
So Grandma, you know how special you are to me. You are my inspiration for the kind of person I want to be - and I am saddened that I could not be there with the family this weekend to celebrate your 80th with you.
But know I was thinking about you, and how much I love you.
I will see you in a few months, and I cannot wait!
LOVE YOU!

What's making me happy right now...
* Dinner parties with international friends
* Re-connecting with old friends and colleagues
* Days where I am having people contact ALL the time; feeling energised
* Listening to Keane, my musicals and discovering the beauty of new sounds
* Thinking about working in an organisation I truely believe in, and having the impact I really want
* Friends visiting - bottles of wine and good conversations
* My feather boas... all of them.
* When the sun comes out; even if only for a moment
* Warm bread products from Albert Heijn
* My new pink slippers from my roomie
This is but a snapshot.

DAY OF POWER
It started with a breakfast at Jana's house - yummy foods, good tea and awesome one on one catch-up time

Then I met a hungover Kimbo at the train station - sporting a fashionable 'sailor' look, and we headed into town for some shopping and catch up time. Just what I needed - a good dose of randomness and serious talk at the same time. Thanks babe!
After some serious pizza action, we both headed to Loz's house in Diemen Zuid for BIRTHDAY CHAMPAGNE drinks. Loz was crownded with a tiara and pink feather boa; and given a wand so she could dictate the events of the night - which included more bars and pubs in the centre of Amsterdam.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY LOZ - I HOPE YOU ENJOYED THE PAR-TAY!

I love these days; action packed and filled with memorable moments.

Deep Intensity
Disconnected. Introspective. Imbalance.
They do not come very often, but when they do - they hit in a hard way.
When I am in such a state, I really hear the noise of the world.
The chatter of people, I notice the need to connect, the roles people play, the lines that we use to reach each other... and I almost physically step back from it all.
For in these times, all this serves as clutter for me.
I feel myself needing to be away from people.
To rebalance and connect to myself. To look within - and contemplate life's meaning.
But above all, I find within me the intense need to write, and write, and write, and write, and write...
And so tonight, I left a social event early and suddenly to return home and write a torrent of words in my book I am pulling together.... and like a dove in the sky, I feel myself surfing on the wave of emotion that is inside me at the moment - and trying desperately to understand it's roots.
