I love, love, live it!

To say that I am totally in love with my new place is an understatement. I have not been so in love with my home since I was living alone in my Montreal haven - and the feeling is wonderful.

I love that I am only 10 minutes from the central spots in Amsterdam.
I love that I am only 5 minutes from the local supermarket and shopping areas.
I love that my street is only 5 minutes from the bus and tram stop.
I love that I pass through some beutiful sections of Amsterdam on my way into town.
I love my pink bedroom, with the most comfy doublebed in town.
I love my living room and dining room with the soft candles and red artworks.
I love my small kitchen - intimate yet cosy for others to visit.
I love my gas fireplace and TV system - my little oasis in the living room.

and I keep finding more things that I love about this place every minute.

It really feels like home, and when I am out and about I am thinking about different things I can do to decorate it further (many trips to Ikea have started today!).

For me, right now, I have reached a realisation.

I want to stay in Amsterdam for a while longer - I feel at home in my new place, I feel at home in the city, my job is definately satisfying, and now I am starting my own dinner parties etc again.

I am very much feeling the vibe!

Chilling at home..

It has definately been one of those lazy days...

Well, that is after I have done 85% of my packing in my room!!!

Exciting news... I am finally moving into my own place.

My own LOVELY apartment - with bedroom, living room, kitchen, dining room... its sooo fantastic.

And only 10 minutes from Leidseplein in Amsterdam.

Could it get any better?

I cannot wait till Monday 19th when I am decorating my new place!

Good Times...

So it is always great when you catch up with good friends, and this last weekend was a reunion that was fabulous.

Philipp, my good friend from Germany, returned to Amsterdam for a chill out weekend.... and we had a Fabulous time!

Saturday night was the Boat Party - along the waters of Amsterdam (you can see this here on the left: Philipp, Sandy, Duarte and myself).

Sunday was a nice afternoon/evening chilling out at Cafe de Jaren in centraal downtown.

Randomness and good times were had by all - I CAN'T WAIT FOR THE NEXT INSTALLMENT!

Happy Birthday Mum...

“You are a remarkable woman
who accomplishes so much as a
strong woman
in a man's world
You are strong but soft
You are strong but caring
You are strong but compassionate

You are a remarkable woman
who accomplishes so much as a
giving woman
in a selfish world
You give to your friends
You give to your family
You give to everyone

Y

You are a remarkable woman
who is also a remarkable mother
And you are loved by so many people
whose lives you have touched -
especially me”

Poem by Susan Polis Schutz
